"Why are the good people dying?"

Films: The Crazies (1973)

Alias: Various

Type: Mutant

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Once again, George Romero is dealing with what happens when you're pitted against a crazed, bloodthirsty version of your fellow man. We're beginning to think this man might have had problems with being in crowded areas.

History: Evans City, Pennsylvania is in a rut. An army plane crashed nearby released a deadly bio-weapon into the town's water supply. The virus, dubbed the Trixie Virus, causes those who are infected to either die or go completely insane. Now the place is getting quarantined, and the few uninfected face both the unhinged and the government out to kill on sight.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Evans City is eventually overtaken by the infected, and a possible cure is destroyed in the carnage. Oh, and the infection is spreading to other cities. Good luck fixing this.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-There's nothing too unique here. However, this is still an army of mentally unsound lunatics out to get you. So you better watch out.

Trivia: -This film was also known as "Code Name: Trixie" and "The Mad People".

-The reason for the burning house in the film's beginning is because the film crew saw some firefighters practice putting out fires, and simply filmed the experience.

Where have all...the uninfected people gone?

Zombies would be dumb as rocks. These monsters, however...

From sea to blood-filled sea...

Fire: The perfect ruiner of plagues.
Yep. We're screwed. And, as per the usual, it's our own damn fault.

Even the Kool-Aid has been infected!

The infection with a hundred eyes!

He's seen too much. Too much in an era like this.
